The INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET BROADCASTING course develops students' ability to interface with the Internet using broadcasting techniques and computer skills learned in the various phases of the course. The school limits the size of each class to ten (10) persons maximum. In order to qualify for the course, you must be registered before the class starts. Registration is on a "first-come, first-served" basis.

The
INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET BROADCASTING course is a HANDS-ON lecture and lab session for Production, Digital Editing, Web Development, Streaming Audio, and Commercial WEBCASTS.  Emphasis is placed on the role of the broadcaster in utilizing the Internet as a communications medium for other then pure text submissions. We're moving broadcasting into the 21st century one student at a time.

The Internet Broadcasting Course Outline


I. Phase 1 Introduction to the Personal Computer: This phase includes learning the PC's Basic, Enhanced and Future Configurations and how they can be used for broadcasting..

II. Phase 2 Internet Software:  focus is on several types of Internet software; Windows Operating Software, Internet Browsers, Web Page Software Tools, and Audio Interface Software. Build your own web page with audio.

III Phase 3 Audio Software: The emphasis  is on recording and editing digital  sounds and voice for production.  This phase will cover: Audio Recording Software, Audio Playback Software, Capturing Audio on the Internet and Playing Audio on the Internet.

IV Phase 4 Recording Static Broadcasts: Students will learn how to Recording Directly to the Personal Computer, Digital Editing software, multi-track recording, recording to other Media and saving their  work in multiple versions.

V. Phase 5 Controlling File Size and Memory:  Skills taught during this phase are; STREAMING Audio,  Real Time versus Virtual Real Time, Buffering files, Embedding broadcasts into Web Page Software, Audio Announcements and Commercials on the Web, Advertising via Voice on the Web, Special Announcements and Alerts, and Digital Voice Overs.

VI. Phase 6 "Live" On-line Broadcasting Principles: BUILD YOUR WEBSITE WITH YOUR HEADSHOTS, BIOS, VOICE OVER SAMPLES, NARRATIONS, ONLINE RESUME.  Advanced tools in use on the Internet; Web Hosts, Gateways, Internet Service Providers (ISP's), URL's,  IP Addressing,  and Navigation will be presented. The class will discuss the Internet's Future Broadcasting Potential and  Develop a WEB RADIO Broadcast.

VII. Phase 7 "Live" On-Line Broadcasting Principles:  Phase 7 is a totally hands on phase where every student will AIR their own Internet broadcast with the skills they have acquired throughout the course.  This broadcast can be used in the future for the students job applications, live voice samples and resume.
